Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory

  • Recognizing and nurturing diverse intelligences such as linguistic, logical, musical, kinaesthetic, and interpersonal skills.

We also follow Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory, which recognizes and nurtures different types of intelligence, from linguistic and logical to musical, kinesthetic, and interpersonal. At Pyramid Kidszone, our age-appropriate curriculum is crafted with Multiple Intelligences as its backbone, catering to all nine aspects of intelligence. We firmly believe that a preschool education should go beyond numeracy and literacy, allowing a child to develop in various domains. A child needs to be body-smart, people-smart, self-smart, nature-smart, music-smart, and picture-smart, in addition to being word-smart and number-smart. Our teachers understand that every child learns differently. Some children prefer verbal explanations, others hands-on learning, while some grasp concepts better through visuals or diagrams. Multiple Intelligence Theory allows us to cater to each child’s educational needs, making learning more effective and enjoyable.

Play-Way Method

  • Ensuring children learn naturally through hands-on activities, imaginative play, and interactive experiences.

Another cornerstone of our philosophy is the Play-Way Method, which ensures that children learn naturally through hands-on activities, imaginative play, and interactive experiences. This method is based on the belief that play is the most natural way for children to understand the world around them. Learning occurs through engaging activities rather than traditional classroom instruction. Instead of relying solely on books and formal teaching, the Play-Way method encourages active participation in exploratory and experiential learning. The teacher sets up various learning materials, observes how children interact with them, and provides guidance only when necessary. This approach allows children to develop problem-solving skills and fosters a love for learning.

Incorporating play-based learning into our curriculum ensures that even complex concepts such as shapes, numbers, and opposites are introduced in an engaging and intuitive manner. For example, a simple nature walk can turn into a lesson on size comparisons using twigs and leaves. Children learn through experiences like crawling through tunnels, stacking blocks, exploring floating and sinking objects, and engaging in pretend play. By splitting the learning environment into indoor and outdoor areas, we provide varied activities that keep children engaged and eager to explore. The Play-Way method not only enhances cognitive skills but also helps children develop social skills, problem-solving abilities, and creative thinking.

By combining these proven educational philosophies, we create a dynamic learning environment where children develop academically, socially, and emotionally. At Pyramid Kidszone, we are committed to laying a strong foundation for every child, helping them grow into confident, curious, and compassionate individuals ready to take on the world.

Gandhian Theory

  • Promoting simplicity, self-discipline, and values-based learning.

We understand that every child is unique, with different strengths, interests, and learning styles. Our teaching approach is guided by the Gandhian Theory, which encourages simplicity, self-discipline, and values-based learning. According to Mahatma Gandhi, good education stimulates the spiritual, intellectual, and physical faculties of children. The curriculum is designed to be craft-centered and activity-based, emphasizing hands-on learning that helps children understand concrete life situations. We focus on correlation as a method of basic education, linking learning with a child’s everyday life experiences. Gandhi discouraged the excessive use of books at an early age, believing that learning should initially be conducted through oral methods to prevent children from being overwhelmed by words. The role of the teacher is akin to that of a nurturing mother who lives and learns alongside the child, helping them mature at their own pace. Instead of religious instruction, we emphasize ethical principles and moral values.
